Hi guys, I just called HP customer services and they offered to fix my laptop for free! they said that they knew the issue with the DV2000 motherboards and that it would cost nothing for me to have repaired.

I suggest you ask for the same thing!

My dv2000t has just suffered the same fate, but HP won’t repair it free of charge as it doesn’t have one of the product numbers listed under the limited warranty. Mine is RM668AV. If you find yourself in the same situation then leave a post on the HP forum website and heopefully HP will extend warranty coverage -

I have the same problem with my DV2123tx that I bought in Singapore last year but HP Singapore won’t repair it free of charge because 1 year warranty expired.1 year 5 months my DV2123tx had 3 beeps problem and I spent S$500 for repair. Now my DV2123tx has the same problem again and HP won’t repair it for free even I said it was a defect. They said I must pay around S$500 first and they will do repairing for me.With S$1000 I can buy another new notebook.I am very dissapointed with HP Singapore. I am tired to debate with them. They said it’s old notebook and it’s better buying a new notebook. But how come I only use that notebook not until 2 years.I bought my DV2123tx for S$3000, it’s expensive.I thought I can use my notebook for along time. This is my first time buying HP notebook.Usually I buy Toshiba notebook.I had experienced with factory defect from ASUS desktop but they changed my motherboard with the new model because my previous model was discontinued.
